She never married. She helped raise the younger siblings after her mother died. She was active in several Zionist organizations – Young Judeans and MRT Girls – supporting what was then Palestine [news]. She was a bookkeeper in the mid-1920s, living at home, 1001 West Genesee. She last appeared in the Syracuse directories for 1926-27.92

Ceil became an employee or business associate of her cousin Harry Hoberman, in NYC and/or Brooklyn. Harry hired her, helped her to get a job somewhere else, or helped her to start her own business [oral hx]. She was listed as the vice president of the Acorn Desk & Fixture Company, Manhattan and Brooklyn, in the late 1920s and early 1930s directories92
