Hello again!
After putting everybody one in the the picture below [see pictures by clicking camera icon] on the family tree, I am sure that I have figured out the mystery. This is the solution. Rochel Leah’s elder sister, Zelda, died, so tradition mandated that Burned Kaufman married the next oldest sister to care for his child, Rose, which was Rochel Leah. Obviously when the photo was taken he was not included in the picture and Zelda had not died yet. Mystery solved!!
So the conclusion above is that Sam Lash and Jacob Kaufman are BROTHERS and man named Burned Kaufman who left Russia when his daughter was just one and toiled in America for 10 years, so he could bring his wife who he last saw when she was 21 and 7 members of her family is responsible for our being in the United States. Many of us carry his name rather than our own as a tribute to him.
